About WSD
Message from Haruhisa Handa - Chairman
Seeing an urgent need for more and better international cooperation, Worldwide Support for Development (WSD) can engage as a private entity, operating in a variety of fields that are beyond the reach of Japanese public sector agencies. For example, in Cambodia and Laos, the poorest ASEAN nations, the WSD is engaged in many different projects, including support for welfare and public health, education, economics empowerment, and international dialogue, working closely with the national governments.
WSD also works with think tanks in Japan, Asia, USA, and Europe to develop proposals and foster ideas related to diplomacy and international issues, all aimed at enhancing the welfare of nations and peoples.
WSD will continue its mission of providing support that is grounded in strong humanitarian values and deep concern for the welfare of people. It will continue to tackle the diverse and demanding international and domestic issues we face, from our vantage point as a private sector body. These objectives concern above all else support for vibrant cultures, and this necessarily means the art of love for humanity, because creativity enriches and enhances human society. We have established this organization to bring together people of like minds, people who have a wealth of creative talent, who are passionate, intelligent, bright and forward looking.
WSD's activities, present and future, demand the active and creative collaboration of people and supporters who share this vision. I hope that WSD will find ever greater understanding and support from an ever expanding group of supporters.
