Handa Scholarship, Cambodia Study Program

WSD provides exceptional Japanese students with an opportunity to experience present day Cambodian life in person through an international student exchange program. Through the exchange, the goal of the project is to nurture participants to build a bridge of friendship between Japan and Cambodia.

Initiated in 2009, the scholarship has been awarded annually* to support short-term overseas exchange supported by the Consulate in joint efforts with the Nishinnippon Shimbun. The scholarship supports progressive international exchange with the the hope that the participants may become “a youthful bridge of friendship” between Kyushu and Cambodia as well as between Japan and Asia.
